This is an extraordinarily beautiful photo. I love the way almost the entire picture is in the Foreground to the right with only a semblance of colour to the left. This makes a LOT of 'depth' to the whole photo. It is almost like a 'water-colour' painting. Only one thing: the left hand side of the building, where their is a faint line outlining the 'edge' of the house, I think, should be a LOT fainter, possibly not there at all? Just let it fade away. I do love the way the trees seem almost to be 'holding up' the house. An awesome photo. Well done
When I saw this photo, my first thought was of heat. The kind of heat that makes the air turn yellow and your eyes feel dry. The kind of heat that covers your skin with dust that exists only in your head. I can hear the crackling as plants burn under the sun. That's the left side. Then my eye travels to the right side where the leaves are green, unscathed by the dusty air around it. The trees protect the house, shielding the windows from the yellow haze.
Personally I feel the left side (perhaps the whole photo) is a bit overexposed, but then the effect wouldn't be the same if it wasn't.
Beyond love your decsription and how the lyric from Imogen Heap effected you. That song is one to love for the ages. As for the photo other than the composition I really love the contrast you gave it. Make me feel like I'm about to be dragged into a memory.
This photo is so calm, I really like it. The fact that there are only a few colors is cool, too, since you know there must be something deeper than just the appearance. And my eyes are contantly attracted between both sides. The house on the right looks so nice, yet it feels like something in the distance on the left goes deeper.
i'm sorry, it this a photo? it's so beautiful... the way the tree rise from the root of the house, the shadows, the leaves...the leaves! just look at it! and the way it's faded in the distance it's too beautiful, i love it
I love the colors of this, it looks very sunny but also very "smooth", not one of those overly-bright-sunny-day-photographs. The trees are very nice, especially how they bend and I like the frameing of this, good that the trees are not in the center
I like the way that you portrayed the song in this photograph. It isn't my way of portraying, but its not supposed to be. I think I can feel the emotion coming from this picture. I had to put on the song before looking, then I read your description and giggled when you said to put it on. C:
I love how you immediately concentrate on the trees that almost seem to be holding up the house...it's like nature and man-made coming together, merging in some way. Because it seems like an old abandoned house, it feels mysterious as well; how long has it been there? When was the last time someone lived in it? To add to the mysterious effect is the fact that we can't really see what is beyond this house and trees...what lies ahead? What surrounds it?
The light of this photograph is also very beautiful because it makes it a beautiful mystery, not a sad or scary one
I get a feeling like it should be something on the left side of this photo - looks empty now. I think You should show more of the building. But I like the colors on this one and the way it look like a old sketch.
This is a really nice shot When I saw the Thumb I thought it was a drawing, because of the soft colors on the left side. This makes your drawing really stand out and looks much different from the most photographies you can find here. Really well done!
Well taken shot. I love the over all color and composition and you really focus on the house. My only suggestion would to POSSIBLY bump up in the contrast in the back slightly but regardless, it's still an enjoyable shot
This is a really nice photo. First of all, the colors are fantastic. Generally, when I see this effect used, it's just to make it look cool, and it's pointless, but here it actually FITS, and I really appreciate that you know how to use such effects. Second, the framing is nice. I like the use of... space.
I personally love that you chose to frame the main elements on the right. That's one of the things I love most about this photo. I'm terrible when it comes to commenting (I found your image through your thread in thumbshare forums) but it made me want to check out the rest of your gallery and I really love your photography.
It gives me a strange feeling like the trees are going to stand up on their roots and walk away with the house. I like the slightly washed out effect! I'm no expert on photography, but I can still appreciate an interesting photo!
The picture overall seems washed out and empty. The background seems like it is engulfed in fog. My attention, keeps on zooming in on the house and trees that are in focus. It kind gives the picture a dreamy/flashback vibe to it.
